Being a Character

Glasgow Project Room

27–30 January 2011

This solo exhibition invoked a group of characters using prose pieces, a collection of personal tokens and two moving image works. A 16mm film loop and a 35mm tape slide projector animated the characters and their moods during the hours of dusk when the exhibition was open.

The title of the exhibition is taken from a collection of essays by Christopher Bollas.

35mm slides taken by Francis McKee. Thank you to the Burrell Collection, Glasgow and Glasgow Life. Silver tokens crafted by Eona McCallum. Installation supported by James McLardy and Rob Kennedy.

Supported by Glasgow Visual Art Fund.
