Sound is evoked but withheld in this silent 16mm film showing the artist and percussionist Fritz Welch rehearsing. Listening is metaphorically taken apart as an anatomical model of an ear is disassembled. Fritz’s silent percussive gestures are then annotated with intertitles before the ear is reassembled again.
